Christmas Cheer

There was Christmas cheer amongst the 900 workers of Manroland Sheetfed GmbH in Offenbach last week, as strong order intake in the final quarter of 2019 heralded an end to short time working and good production loading in the run-up to Christmas and beyond.

Addressing the entire 900 strong workforce of “Rolanders” at the quarterly Workers Assembly, Manroland Sheetfed group CEO, Rafael Penuela-Torres, received warm applause when he announced that the company’s More Press for Less initiative had resulted in significantly improved order intake, with good production loading at current manning levels through to March 2020. Overtime working was introduced in November and the company is taking on more employees in January, as expected demand continues to increase.

Speaking afterwards, Penuela-Torres said:

“With the strong support of our shareholder and the very positive response from our customers, we are taking advantage of our lean structure and flexible organization. Thanks to our staff and facilities we are capable to increase our production very quickly by more than 35%”.
