Mr. Rafael Penuela Torres, CEO of Manroland Sheetfed GmbH, and Ms. Heike Weber, Regional Sales Director, Manroland Sheetfed GmbH, recently visited the Manroland China subsidiary to gain a deeper understanding on the current situation of the Chinese market. Mr. Penuela fully expressed the high importance of the group's Chinese business and his confidence and expectations for future development.

During the 5-day trip, Mr. Penuela and his team visited several well-known printing companies. During discussions, with the assistance of interpreters, he shared the experience and achievements of Manroland's technological innovations, environmental protection and sustainable developments. They discussed the current economic environment and industry prospects, and everyone agreed that further in-depth communication is needed to achieve win-win cooperation under the new situation.

Mr. Penuela also visited Manroland China's Print Technology Center (PTC), and pointed out that it is Manroland's goal to continue to provide customers with comprehensive quality solutions. At the same time, he also accepted an exclusive interview with the media and elaborated on the strategies, new developments and goals for China and globally.

He said that the printing industry has been facing challenges in recent years, with the supply chain severely affected and unprecedented cost increases affecting the printing industry. However, Manroland has responded to these challenges well, and with the support of parent company, Langley Holdings plc, Manroland has significantly increased its inventory to ensure the supply capacity of global production and customer service.

Manroland China's customers invest in state-of-the-art equipment to produce products for demanding buyers around the world. In recent years, the presses delivered to Chinese print companies have been equipped with the most advanced automation and printing quality control systems, enabling increased production capacity and high quality printing.

A clear trend is for medium format presses to replace small format presses, and a large number of users of medium format presses are showing a strong interest in larger format. Manroland has always been committed to developing technology for the benefit of customers, focusing on the continuity of product development. Therefore, the new generation ROLAND 900 EVOLUTION, a large format press used for packaging and commercial, successfully landed in the Chinese market last year.

Mr. Penuela said that the China trip has achieved more than expected results. Through visits, investigations, exchanges and cooperation, he had a deep understanding of the Chinese market and business operation mode to further develop the business in China. Looking ahead, he is confident of Manroland's continued performance in the Chinese market.
