Manufacturing company Heintz Van Landewyck invest once again in Manroland

Luxembourg-based printing company Heintz Van Landewyck installed a new Roland 706 LV in mid-2020 to replace a Roland 704 four-color press.

Guido Weiskircher, Technical Director of Heintz Van Landewyck said: “We have a long relationship and very good experiences with Manroland Benelux, both with the products they supply and with the company and its people. It is no surprise the new press is once again a Roland. ”

Heintz Van Landewyck is an in-house printing company and prints the packaging for the tobacco products that the group produces. The Heintz Van Landewyck Group was founded in 1847 and is active in eight countries. Until recently, the activities of Heintz Van Landewyck were spread over several locations and branches, but to streamline production and logistics, the company has placed a new building in Luxembourg, where all activities are now grouped. For the same reason, the printing plant has also moved to the new location.

Two birds with one stone

Heintz Van Landewyck already has two Roland presses, namely a Roland 704 four-color press with a double coating unit and a Roland 706 six-color press with a coating unit. To improve efficiency within the printing plant, it was decided to replace the 20-year-old Roland 704 with a new Roland six-color press, also with a coating unit. Guido Weiskircher: “The move to the new building was actually the ideal opportunity to replace the Roland 704 four-color press. The new Roland 706 with coating unit would then immediately be assembled at the new location. Manroland Benelux was also responsible for the relocation and construction of our second press. The installation started in February, but due to the corona crisis, the completion of the new building was delayed, so we only started production at the end of May. ”

Identical configuration

With the installation of the new press, Heintz Van Landewyck now has two of the same machine configurations. Guido Weiskircher: “Our existing Roland 706 has brought everything

completely up-to-date, so that we now have two almost identical presses. Both machines have the same plate format, which means that, for whatever reason, we can move a job at any time. Another advantage of this configuration is that the press operators are also interchangeable, which only benefits the uptime of the presses. ”

To conclude, Guido Weiskircher says this: “Despite the corona problems, the installation went very smoothly and we were quickly operational with the machine. The printing quality, productivity and set-up times of the new press are top notch, but that was no surprise because we already knew that. All in all, a big compliment to the Manroland Benelux team! ”
